This tutorial contains instructions for two versions of the same necklace, along with a matching bracelet and earrings. It is explained in great detail and is very easy to follow. It is named after my friend Megs who says they look like dancing ladies. The dainty design consists of a lacy motif which is repeated for the full length of the necklace to form a collar. Each motif consists of eight bugle beads in a U-shape, edged with loops of seed beads and with a seed bead heart shape in the centre. A quicker necklace variation has five motifs at the centre front with a narrow beaded band at each side. You could also try making it with three or seven motifs, adjusting the lengths of the side bars accordingly.
The earrings consist of a single motif made using wire instead of thread so that they will hold their shape.
The bracelet has a beaded toggle clasp which means it matches perfectly and is ideal for people with metal allergies. There is also an option to omit the beaded clasp and use a ready-made clasp instead.
42 jam-packed pages including 11 pages of helpful information about basic beading. 64 clear instruction diagrams. 36 photos of finished work. It is written in English and uses UK terms.
You will need 6 to 8mm bugle beads ad size 11 seed beads, with a beading needle and thread and some fine wire (optional) for the earrings. You can make the earrings with a needle and thread but just be aware that they may not hold their shape well. Plus you will need a necklace clasp, earring hooks, and jump rings, with two pairs of pliers to attach them with. You may also need a bracelet clasp depending on which bracelet version you are making. You can substitute size 8 seed beads instead of size 11 in everything except the beaded toggle clasp bracelet.
The bracelet is available for free as an individual pattern here.
